High School Online

Orion High School is America’s premier private online high school. Its mission is to provide quality online education by ensuring that the curriculum is rigorous, challenging and at the same time, flexible. It espouses empowerment through learning.

Orion High School believes in exceeding expectations when it comes to their students’ educational achievements. It believes in providing a secure and supportive online environment for a meaningful learning experience.

This school was conceptualized by teachers who believe that a traditional mortar and brick school is not the only way students can get quality education. The goal is to consistently provide the best high school program in the country through online means.

Orion High School is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Agency and offers the lowest tuition fee among all accredited online high schools. It is also a candidate for accreditation with the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Independent Private Schools Association. Students will be apprised of the whole process should this candidacy push through.

Orion High School offers various kinds of programs but three kinds of diploma programs. The first is the Regular Diploma Program which requires 23 credits for graduation. The second is the Orion Leveling Diploma Program for students who have not passed their State exam. The transcript will be reviewed by Orion in such cases where the student has graduated from their high school but did not pass the State’s exam because the student may be qualified to graduate from Orion. The third is the International Leveling Diploma Program which is for students who have completed their high school education outside the United States. This program reviews international transcripts and if the student meets Orion’s standards and requirements, the student can graduate from Orion.

Orion encourages a flexible curriculum for their students, as such; learners are only allowed to take two courses at the same time for the first three months. After the initial stage, learners will be allowed to increase their courses to four and these must be completed in three months.

Orion High School provides various support services for their students by providing OHS advisors who can assist them in their choice of courses and align them with the correct sequence of courses for graduation. There are also technology support services such as e-mail, phone and live chat support systems and for immediate assistance, students can call 1-OHS-337. Orion Advising Services is also present should students require assistance regarding their course work.

Qualified mentors are on hand for daily dialogue through email or live online interaction through the Orion Collaboration Center.

Orion’s courses are not intended to prepare learners for state exit examinations but if learners wish to do so, they may. In fact, Orion encourages this so Orion has comparative data to use.

The curriculum of Orion High School is based on national standards whether in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English Language Arts/Reading and Career Readiness. The courses are also aligned to assist learners who would like to take college or university exams.
