High School Equivalency Tests; A Second Chance

For students who failed in completing their high school education, there are several ways to earn a credential equal to a high school diploma; and with online schools flourishing on the web, you can earn yours by taking a high school equivalency test. The screening process for obtaining a high school equivalency credential is done entirely online, and the diploma is the same as those offered by any traditional secondary school.
The test is provided by an independent organization or institution, such as an online school, and usually at a certain cost; but the credential is recognized by the state, as long as the institution itself is legitimate. The items included in the exam vary, but will cover all of the subjects included in a standard high school curriculum, and will be very similar to the tests which are designed and given by the Department of Education. Taking the exam will measure two aspects in an individual’s proficiency: the person’s academic knowledge, in complement to the life experiences and employment skills which have been learned thus far.
You have an advantage if you earn your high school diploma through an equivalency test. If you pass the online exam, your graduation package may be awarded to you after a couple of weeks. This will include an authentic secondary school graduation diploma, signed by the online school’s administrative staff and affixed with the school’s official seal; validated transcripts which serve as your academic record, detailing all the courses you completed to meet your diploma requirements; and a verification certificate of your degree and transcript, which is kept on file in the school registrar’s office. Copies of any of these documents may be sent to you or to any third party (your prospective employer or university) upon request. In addition, your name will be added to the school’s alumni association, making you eligible to share in its membership benefits.
The high school equivalency diploma is a legal diploma, meaning that you can include it in all official documents, such as your resume, passport, job application, and business card; you do have to check with the university or the company you are applying for if they recognize the credential. Make sure you that you explicitly state the manner in which you earned your credential (through an independent testing service), so you won’t have any future problems if ever you are admitted or hired. The good thing about a high equivalency credential is that it is easily verifiable, and will require your authorization before such is made to the school registrar’s office.
Since the testing process and evaluation is done online, you can earn your high school equivalency from any part of the world; your credential will be sent to you through shipping services. The decision of earning a diploma through taking an equivalency exam is up to you. The cost is affordable, compared to the time and effort you would have spent had you returned to your high school to finish your education; and it is of equal merit, if not better, to a GED credential, as it is recognized by more state and private institutions. Plus, there’s satisfaction in knowing that you earned your diploma in the same way as a regular high school student would have done – with preparation and hard work.
